Lost a week!!!

Went through my training diary today, an bing things into my iPhone calendar, starting backwards from the LM and found I'm a week behind !!!

Not a massive problem as the early weeks are mainly repeats but it shows that time is ticking so about 16 weeks to go!!!

Hit the road

Dispite the weather I managed to hit the road with a planned long slow run/walk 20 easy run then 2 min run, 2 min walk 20 times. 1hr 40mins later I'd clocked up just under 9 miles... And feel quite good although a little stiff

Nothing a hot bath won't cure

Christmas done

Finally done the Christmas thing, no training as the man flu/cold whatever really hit me and I am paranoid about it going onto my chest - instead of 3 days off that would give be 3 weeks off with antibiotics' but feeling much better now so should be out this evening despite the pissing rain.
Need to poke all my mates for fund raising as I need to hit the £600 target by the 21st jan

London walk

Still feeling like poo, but took the family for the traditional Christmas Eve London visit today. The plan says 30min walk, 30 min run (or is it the other way around?) but we clocked up around 2hrs (5.3 miles) walking around London.

I won't mention the Eds burger, or the visit to the M&Ms shop... But it is Christmas!!

poo

Feeling Like poo. Have had a cold for the last few days, and possibly made the mistake of doing some intervals last night. Managed everything, but felt really hot and very drained when I came back and wasn't able to do much afterwards apart from sleep. Supposed to do my 40run 40 walk today, but just dont feel well, so I'm officially having a couple of dats off to try and recharge my batteries Wayne

Running school

Good session at the running school today. Managed to get my arms and legs working at the same time for around 10 seconds... And my glutes need a serious activation. And we hit 8.5 mph!!!!

Still after an hour on the treadmill my knee isn't giving me as much problems as it was yesterday so something must be working right.

Running in the rain...again

Bit of a mixed up weekend today. Christmas party last night so no training, but felt the need to get out so dug out the plan from the runningschool, swapped my rest day with tomorrow as I know I'm out tomorrow, and did 40 minutes fast walk then 40 minutes run... in the rain. Hard work, windly and cold, but I managed it then - checked my plan when I got back and found I should have done 40 minutes run, then 40 minutes walk...doh!! repeats

Out with Emma this evening. 1 mile warmup, then 4 mins 1/2M pace, 2m easy, 2 min 10K pace 1m easy and then 1m fast. Repeat 3 times until cooked. Felt good relaxed, found all the hills came at the point I was running fast, but a good workout. Just over 5 miles completed. At the Running School tomorrow!!! Wayne

1st Half

Did my 1st 1.2 Marathon along the grand union canal. Felt good, ending in 2:17:44 with a sprint to the end. Felt sick afterwards so might need to consider my hydration, but my pacing felt ok.

Pissed Off

Congrats to Wayne who yet again didn't get a London marathon entry place, and is now officially depressed and fucked off. And just before you say it no there isn't next year, because I don't see the point in entering, and no there are no other marathons I can enter as there is only one I really really wanted to do. Now I'm going to see now fast I can eat chocolate biscuits and put 2 stone back on."

Starting on a different plan

First day of my new 10 K training plan-2 miles easy, 4×90 secs fast/ 3 mins slow and then 2 miles easy. Managed to complete it but it was harder than I thought. I am considering going to physio as my hamstring is stiffening up despite having 4 days off. It turns out my fast pace is just over eight minutes (8.15) a mile.

I've now planned it all out I have eight weeks to go before BUPA and six weeks to go before Silverstone.

Back again

It was a nice sunny day so I took a chance and ran the 2.5miles to the gym... Quite hard as I think I have pulled my hamstring a bit but got there in the end, then did 400m warm down and 10mins I the bike.. Now ready for my pizza!!!! I am diving tomorrow and at excel all weekend do have a reasonable recovery time.. And now looking at doing the silverstone 10k in may.

Chugged arond.

Still felt a bit grotty, but also felt stressed so I needed to got for a run. Chugged around 4,5 miles felt a bit achy and hot and cold flushed, but feeling good about my run. Will post results tomorrow as I cannot be bothered to turn the PC on to upload my watch...

Not well

Been off for a couple of days with flu, but decided to pus myself to the gym.

Tried to take it easy, with 2m@11.15 and then some steps and a couple of miles of the bike but got seriously over heated. I didn't think I had a fever before I started, but I think I might have pushed it. Legs get ok apart from slight stiffness but head feels very very hot. Not a good session.

Still I have 9 weeks to go to BUPA so I'm going to start an 8 week training plan next week. Hopefully I have rwcovered by then.

Intervals on the mill

Didn't have much time today, and had a stressful day so hit the gym with wife's for a short one. Decided to try intervals on a treadmill 1st was 30s@7.5 2m@5.5 with 5 reps and then 45s@8 and 1.30@5,5 again with 5 reps... Interesting is all I can say and harder than I expected... But I got there in the end!!!

Went for a run last night, and ended up doing my best run ever. It was long, 6.5 miles, fastish 10.16, but I felt good during it and even better after! Bit achy this morning but still feeling happy

Gym



Didn't real with it today, but wifey dragged me to the gym this evening and I managed to chug along for 4 miles. Did I mention I hate tread mills? Setting it to 1% makes it a little more realistic, but I get so hot, and there was a bloke beside me thudding along at 8.30, but he stopped at 3 miles.
Now home playing on my new iPad, And about to eat my chicken and chorizo rice thing.

Gym

Wifey wanted to go to the gym, so I tagged along for a lite workout angrier yesterday's 6 miler. 20mins on bike, 12 elypotical and 12 on the strider got me nicely warm, without being too strenuous.
Back on the road tomorrow (I thnk!!) as wifey pointed out its only 12 days to the sport relief mile... Why I'm running 6 is beyond me :-)!!

Got Lost but winning!!

Went for a run today, planned around 4ish miles, but managed to get lost and did considerably more!! Did my long Moor Park estate run backwards (the run not me!!), as the massive hill was better at the start than the end, took what I though was a extra road, and then found I was running in circles, nearly back to my start point. So I hit the tube station at 4.5 miles (normally about my 1/2 way point), with still 4 miles to go. Still I plodded on and managed 66 minutes of continous running, without killing myself. I might ache tomorrow, but I feel good. I am a runner!!! Energy Gel at 3 miles.... I like strawberry & Banana! Didn't fell like eating much when i got home, but wifey had cooked me turkey wraps so I munched through all the peppers and turkey. Wayne

Good run

Been working most of the day and was tired, but needed to hit the road and go for a run. Felt fantastic managed a good 4.92 miles in 49.26 (thats avg of 10.03) and tried an energy gel thingy at the half way point. I don't know if it is all in the mind but I felt it gave me a boost. Certainly managed to hit the last hill with a spring in my step...

I hate treadmills!!

I have come to the conclusion that I don't do well running after a meal, and I really really hate treadmills. Had tea, went to gym, managed 3.25 miles at 1% and 6mph, and then 10 mins fat burning on a bike to warm down. I find treadmills confining and don't mange to find a comfortable pace

Good run

Felt figity and restless so hit the road with a gentle 4 miles to the local tube station and back.. Quite a respectable 9.52 over the 4 miles but I think my HM was playing up as I was running with a HR of 68???? Might need to change the battery!!!

Long and slow

decided to hit the road tonight with a long slow distance run for a change. Wifey went to the gym, so I had a destination and a rough route. Run wasn't too bad although I find it hard to keep my pace down, but the distance felt good overall I managed 4.56 miles in 48:10 giving an average pace of 10.40 not fantastic, but ok

Fast!!

Well apart from the fact the my watch didn't download the route properly, it did record the times... 22.55 for a 2.47 distance giving an average pace of 9.17!!!!! Weeeeeee!!!

Different route

Took a different(longer) route to the gym today, and it felt faster... Possibly based on the fact I'm knackered!!! Didn't do any gym work, just steam and bubbles. Will download run when I get home.

Just registered with the local st Albans park run... Let's see what Saturday brings.. 5k around a lake . Also thinking of doing the st Albans 1/2 marathon on 10th June... But it's only 2 weeks after my BUPA London 10k

9.34!!

Couldn't sleep so decided to download my watch from todays run to the gym.. and although its only over 2.2 miles, & I normall check over 3-3.5miles. I managed a 9.34 avg mile!!!! Weeee!!! and I felt good and had hills!!! This equates to a sub 1hr 10K!! now I'm in a good mood Wayne

Run....gym..... Kebab

2.5 miles run to the gym, then 45 mins on various bikes, steppers, elipiticals and a 1000m row.... I feel good ... Now off to get a kebab!!! I run so I can eat a kebab!!! I need a kebab!!! Juicy kebab!!!! Tasty kebab....hmmmmm

Back!!!

just had a week off training due to food poisoning, but had a good days diving yesterday, and woke up today thinking I need the gym.... Always a good sign!!

Have booked my place at the British 10k on July 8th so I now have 2 10ks to train for!! I'm also planning a 1/2 marathon in sept/oct but it depends on diving.

Going to run from work to the gym today, it's only 2.5miles, I can then have a warm down when I get there...:-)

Made the mistake of a chinese omelette on Sunday night, and have been suffering since... Still it's done wonders for my weight loss program, but not much good for the gym or my running.

It's getting better, but still not 100% so I might be gyming tonight.... Or I might not.

had to go into work today, and its pissing with rain so hit the gym this afternoon on the way home. I managed to break the first treadmill... Overloading it 4 times before it gave up the ghost, still I manged 4 miles on the second. Why is treadmill running so different to running on the road?

fast but not fast

Felt tired and snappy all evening, so decided to go for a run. Felt it was faster than normal, but the couple of hills on my normal route got to me a bit with my HR hitting 168 at a couple of points. so it all averaged out at 10.04 over 3.25 miles. Feeling good now, and my breathing and legs felt good... it evbne felt a bit hot with my 3 layers so summer must be coming. I Even started thinking about how far I could really run at my slow pace... ultras anyone? I have also a slight twinge in the middle of my right thigh...need to keep an eye on it has it has cropped up a few times... nothing serious just a niggle. Also discovered Ben C from my diving club(http://www.busheydivers.org) is running in same the BUPA 10K... he's a bit fitter than me!! Happy birthday Wifey!!!! Wayne

Madness hits

Madness must be creeping in as I've run twice in two days. We are still in Bognor so this time I decided to explore the east side of the coastline from Butlins with a slightly shorter run.. It's great .. Not too many people about, and those who are are very friendly, weather dry and. It is not as cold as yesterday.
Got half way around and was desperate for the loo.. Luckily I found one!!! now having a lovely hot shower and then breakfast before a session in the pool.

Bognor running

Woke up this morning after a food blowout yesterday... A weekend at burlins@Bognor does that to me. Felt tired and lethargic, but decided to get the kit on and go for a run on the sea front. Apart from the fact it was freezing, it was bright and sunny there were plenty of other very friendly runners. Had a great relaxed run and now feeling all glowy and setup for the day... Off to the spa later. And I getting addicted to running?

Icey

Hit the road again tonight, this te for a change I took the iPod. In sections I found my pace considerably faster, but I was slowed down by the icy patches.

End result was a 9.46 over 3.5miles, not bad. It I didnt feel as comfortable as before... Maybe I'm just still tired.

No gym tomorrow as I'm diving.

Day after

I slept like a log after last nights 1st gym session, and quite surprisingly I'm only aching in one elbow. And guess what - i stood on the scales this morning and I have lost weight!!!

Rest day today, I'm running on the road tomorrow hopefully the paths will be a bit cleared or my yaktrax will turn up.

Gym

Good gym session, I remember how much running on the treadmill differs from the road... I prefer the road!!!

Started off my weight reps, hopefully things will improve over time. I could really do with the sauna and jacuzzi :-) but have to do the parent thing and collect step daughter.

Spend spend spend

I have gone a bit mad with the spending today, replacing my 3 yr old trainers, replacing my headphones and buying an iPhone arm holder thingy. All I need now is 50p for the lockers at the gym!!

Joined gym

Just joined the gym, got a free bag towel and water bottle :-) and managed to escape the gym induction on the grounds I had done it two years ago :-)

Rejoining Gym today!!!

When I started all this runnning melarky, just before I started to learn to dive I had joined the local gym. Since there is currently snow on the ground, ice on the roads, and I'm still waiting for my YakTrax, I going to rejoin the local gym. At least I can work on my cardio and core and start to do some weights again. I used to run to the gym, and then do the workout, but I think for the first few, as I am still running home from work, I'll drive :-) It will be interesting to see some of my stats compared to 2 years ago.

Running again

Blimey its 2012!!! Ive been doint the running thing off and on, but I managed to loose a lot of my motivation when I took up diving. I do now dive on a regular basis, but I still need to loose weight and get fit. so its now back to the running again
